Looking forward to it! It has already altered my approach to the new year. https://open.substack.com/pub/mfaandbeyond/p/resolving-not-to-resolve?r=3gfzt&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

The start of that post made me tired just reading it! 😂 Looking forward to helping you create that slower, more mindful vision.

This is a beautiful and very necessary post, Amanda, thank you for sharing. Mindfulness is an underdeveloped piece in my writing practice and has led to some symptoms of burnout.

Thanks Olu. I'm glad it resonated with you. Mindfulness completely changed everything about my writing practice. It went from being a source of anxiety back to one of joy! I'm sorry to hear about the burnout. Hopefully the things I share here can help you find a balance.

I think they will. You’ve given me a way to enter writing with more hope and optimism.

“I realised that much of the darkness had come from me giving it my focus.” This is sadly true - I know someone caught in this loop and I’d love to find a way to help them out of it. They do read my writings and I’m grateful that you’ve pointed out how our writing reflects and creates the world we live in.

Glad it helped, Korie. Our writing, reading, watching, thinking, all of it creates our reality.

That's a beautiful idea. I have long stop reading the mainstream media, which is primarily to bring stories of doom and fear and whatever that fancy the masses at the moment. I agree that we can instead seek our deliberate reading and for ourselves, we do mindful writing from the inside out!

Yes, we have to be deliberate. So easy to get sucked into the fear. I stopped reading and watching it all ages ago too and life has been so much better since!
