“Asking why we live didn’t take away my sorrow but it opened me to the possibility of joy.” This sentence caught my attention in a heart way. Although I don’t have children, now that I’m in my 70s I have lost too many friends. Joy can be elusive yet I find it is near if we allow ourselves to access it. Thank you for this thoughtful post!

I’m glad it touched you, Phebe. I too have lost too many friends and eventually all the grief led me to a greater joy than I had ever experienced before as it has taught me what a wonderful gift life is.

Looking through the wrong end of a microscope, and only seeing your own frustration is a never ending loop. This is insightful; thank you!

How would you summarise, 'Virtues-based parenting'?

Hi Amanda, in a nutshell it's leveraging The Five Strategies™ of The Virtues Project™ to parent in a way that honours a child’s true spirit and promotes healthy self-esteem. In July, I’ll be offering Speak the Language of the Virtues, which is the foundational strategy upon which the others rest. It relates to using a vocabulary of strength to encourage a child’s positive character development and identity.
