A thoughtful reflection of how we can trap ourselves into ways of thinking. It's a very British habit to moan about rain without thinking it through as you have done in this article. We are fortunate to have rain and our temperate climate. This year I have tried to embrace dark mornings and evenings and short days. But it's heartening to hear the birds' spring song and see the days lengthening.
It is very British! We’re very fortunate in the UK, in many ways. After moving out of cities and living a rural life, I’ve come to love winter as much as the other seasons. To make the most of cozy times by the fire with cups of tea, reading and writing, hearty soups, and keeping warm. A lot of this embracing of all things is to do with my mindfulness practice but also qigong, which is a holistic practice as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and not just the movements.
Amanda, I really resonate with your mindfulness blog. I tried to find you on Facebook and Twitter so sharing what you do is more effective, but I couldn't find you If you are there, let me know where!
Hello Patrissia, thanks for your message. I'm happy to hear the mindfulness posts are resonating with you. I am not on Facebook or Twitter. Although I do post on the Retreat West Twitter account along with Gaynor. Thank you for sharing my posts.
I’m so glad this message came at the right time for you, Emily. Yes this life is a precious, amazing gift and I’m so grateful that I can now see that 💙

Hi Amanda,
I love this. It came at just the right time for me. Each day is precious. Learning to see that, and just learning to see, are so important.
Thank you!
