The stories I shared are the final versions so your first draft is unlikely to be as great! But I bet it has the makings of something great in there to be found in the editing.
Taking it slow is the best way to take it. And I’m really glad you’re along for the slow ride. 💙
Hi Amanda - I am very new to this platform and writing generally. I support Dave Karpowicz's comment - I somehow have to write about my head and neck cancer journey and be the voice ( literally) for many around the world who struggle. I am glad to be here and finding you.
Hello Yvonne, I’m glad you’re here finding me too. I hope my posts help in some way. I used to run an indie publishing house and I published a memoir from a woman whose young adult son had died after struggling for years with mental health issues. She felt the same that she was the voice for others like him, and other mothers like her, and we worked to pull that out in her book. It was hard but worth it as the end result was powerful and the reviews were brilliant. Best of luck with your memoir and your Substack. You can do it. 💙
Hi Anna, great to hear from you! Nice to connect with likeminded souls. I hope you enjoy my other posts 🙏💙
Sorry to have bent your mind! But also pleased 😂

Amanda, A piece of mindful writing that I find useful is to ask myself 'What do I want the reader to feel or think about?" I find it adds depth. D
Yes that’s a great question to ask, Dave.
