Amanda, I am so touched to be mentioned! Thank you :) And the feeling is mutual, I'm so happy to have met you here! I'm very excited about the Community idea, so I will be joining. I have mixed feelings about Notes... I have started using it more lately, but I am finding it drains my energy. I'll keep at it. For now. I just deleted Instagram, so now only have Facebook, which I maintain purely to stay in touch with old friends from way back x
So glad you've joined us, Lizzie! I look forward to getting to know you more. Yes, Notes drains me too. It didn't to start with but it feels different now. I see too many things I don't want to!
I went for a walk in the winter sun here in Oslo and thought about your post today. Thank you for sharing. I am preparing to move away from SoMe, and strangely I have to gather some courage to do so. All this ideas about missing out.. But I long for quiet offline days š«
I know what you mean about finding the courage. I felt like that when I first deleted my social accounts. But nothing bad happened! Quite the opposite. I spent a lot more time offline reading books, going for walks, dancing in the kitchen with my husband, and having fun!
Hi Amanda! Great job for staying away from some of these platforms! š It's so easy to disappear into that unhealthy sphere. I haven't used most social media platforms for years, but it does make you feel like you're the odd one out sometimes, doesn't it? I believe that's why it's so hard for many people to stay away from them. I think it's a great initiative to create your own community here. Thank you for the reminder that we can find positive and uplifting communities online š
Thanks Julia. I often feel like the odd one out because of most of the things I do! But staying away from social media is definitely a good idea for me. Positive and uplifting is definitely the way to go
Iām really glad you will be there, Anna! š
Bless you Amanda, thank you for sharing your journey here, and our connection. I'm grateful for your accompaniment at Silentium too. x
Thanks AndÅ - that poetry course of yours is next on my treat myself list! š

I hear you, I have had to make liberal use of the mute and 'show fewer Notes like this' buttons to improve my feed, which has helped...
