the way you describe the Tao makes me think of how I understand the Divine: do you see a connection between the two? I love the "Tao that can be explained is not the Tao..." so maybe my question, is a bit of a fruitless one!
You do not know me yet. I am just a subscriber that saw truth and meaning in what you write.
This post, more that ever, confirms that intuition.
I developed an entire theory about the universe and existance that is grounded in the same Toaistic principles you advocate, but goes a little further, by explaining (philosophically and mathematically) the same principles as a necessity for existence.
Thank you, Pedro. I’m glad you can see that in my posts. I checked out the page you linked to and it sounds really interesting. I shall add the documents you recommended to my future reading list.
I really love what you had to say about the interconnectness of character and plot. When I write fiction, I feel my job is to learn who the characters are by writing them and finding out how they respond. Any serious plotting is beyond my control -- or role!
Great piece, I enjoyed following your thoughts on this subject, Amanda.
Great post Amanda, thanks. And thanks for the reading link - what a powerful piece of writing.
I did a “First draft novel” course online years ago and was amazed how the characters emerged and told me their stories! My end result was nothing like my initial intention for the story, and I loved the process and getting to know the characters - it was like finding new friends, or watching a movie! All I had to do was write it down.
Still awaiting second draft, it sits in a drawer 😂.
Great stuff as always. I love your mingling of spiritual concepts and writing.
Thanks Callahan. I’m so happy to hear this.

Hi Laura. Thanks for reading and responding. Yes I believe the Tao, the Divine, the Universe, God are all the same thing.

You can find my core theory here https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17156549
You might find the intuition and spirituality documents relevant.
Cheers,

P.S. - keep up the good work. It is invaluable to all of us.
